Here’s your Marvel Contest of Champions news brief for Friday, October 4, 2019.
Schedule Notes: Summoner Showdown Finals at NYCC at 11:45pm EST. Daily championship for the NYCC tournament will livestream at 5:30pm EST. The Alpha Arena begins at 6pm EST. 100% champion availability following the conclusion of AW attack on Friday afternoon.
Kabam shook the Multiverse yesterday by announcing their next game, Realm of Champions. This new action-adventure RPG will be set on Battleworld, and will share some stories with Marvel Contest of Champions.
Here’s what we know so far (this is cobbled together from various tweets, forum posts and the NYCC livestream):
–MCOC is NOT ending
-Action/adventure RPG
-Same universe as MCOC
-2020 release
-Inspired by 2015 Secret Wars comic series
-Gabriel Frizzera is overseeing the story of both games.
-Separate game development teams
-Will be crossover stories with MCOC
-The Battleworld is where Maestro ended up after Act 4
-Battleworld is the planet you see off in space on the MCOC home screen
-Pick a house and customize your character based on the different variations of said character across Marvel history
-3×3 team play vs computer and real people in real time
