RichTheMan shared his tips for taking down The Gwenmaster.
Wow, I’ve been tapping and swiping my way through the Battlerealm for 7 years now! Let’s see what I’ve accomplished in those 7 years, along with roster and progress updates for the past three months.
Champions – 789 (+23) PI – 2,313,146 (+151,594) Prestige – 11,833 (+332) (Increase over the past 3 months)
Falcon maintains his hold on the top spot of my roster, while Spider-Ham has entered my profile. Initially I considered him a “fun rank-up” as I loved his playstyle during CCP testing, but he is turning into an all-around stud for me. I’ve taken him into Alliance War, and he’s great for certain lanes in Act 7. I also think that once the new Battlegrounds game mode goes live, more players will gain an appreciation for the Pig. The addition of Spider-Ham to my profile pushed The Champion out of my Top 4.
Overall, my new champion acquisition dropped over the past three months, and my PI gain rate also slightly decreased. I attribute this to reduced time spent in arena as I have focused on permanent content. My prestige gain has increased however, as I am now playing Map 8 and have been motivated to improve my standing, as it isn’t great when compared to my alliance’s average.
6-Star Roster
I now have 71 6-Stars, up 8 from 63 in November. I have 9 fully leveled-up Rank 3 6-Stars, up from 6 last update, with Cable still in progress as my 10th. Spider-Ham, Kingpin, and Scarlet Witch Sigil are my new Rank 3s. Once I duped Kingpin, he was an obvious candidate for R3, as I have a 6-Star The Hood for synergy purposes. I’ve used Kingpin a bit in Act 7 recently, and he is my go-to for Path 9 in Alliance War. I’m about a month away from the Scarlet Witch dupe from the Summoner Sigil.
Other recent rank-ups include Hela, She-Hulk, Korg, Punisher 2099, and Immortal Hulk. Some of these champions, particularly Korg and Punisher 2099, are expected to be part of my Battlegrounds deck.
My best pulls over the past three months have been the Kingpin dupe, and the additions of 6-Star Mole Man, Sentinel, Mysterio, and Cull Obsidian.
5/65 5-Stars
My 5/65 5-Stars now number 45 in total, up 4 from 41 in the November update. My new 5/65s are Professor X, Longshot, Gwenpool, and Emma Frost. I wanted Professor X to be ready to go when The Gauntlet returns. Gwenpool was ranked for Variant 8 exploration. Emma Frost has a great synergy with Kitty Pryde, so I’m starting to use her more. Longshot was ranked because I had some expiring resources, but I do think he could be a sneaky Battlegrounds defender.
4/55 5-Stars
I currently have 25 Rank 4 5-Stars, up 1 from 24 last update. New 4/55s include Vemonpool (Variant 8), Storm (Carina’s Challenge), Domino (Battlegrounds), and Mister Fantastic.
Note that my 5-Star Punisher is now Rank 5, but not leveled up yet, which is why he isn’t in the screenshots. Kamala Khan, Jubilee, and Dormammu are in the process of leveling up. Kamala and Jubilee will eventually be used for Carina’s Challenges.
Thankfully I made a bit of progress on the most wanted list. 5-Star Dragon Man is now on my roster, and I think he’ll be useful for Battlegrounds so he’ll be ranked-up soon. Aegon remains at the top of my list, although I did just pull him on my FTP account so maybe I’ll end up doing Labyrinth there.
Content Progress
My big accomplishments over the past three months were 100% exploring both the Classic and Variant versions of Back Issues 8, and 100% Exploring Act 7.2. I did enjoy most of Variant 8, as it gave me new appreciation for Gwenpool and I find it fun to use different champs. As for Act 7.2, aside from the Gwenmaster, I thought this was some of the most enjoyable content Kabam has ever released for MCOC. The path identities were clear, and although it did require scouting and testing from time to time, I felt rewarded once I figured out the puzzles.
We haven’t heard any news on a Variant 9 release, and it looks like Act 7.4 is coming in March or April, which means Act 7 rewards will soon be in play. My plan for now is work on Act 7.3 exploration. Unless we find out that a new title is earned from Act 7 completion, I expect to 100% Act 7.3 before moving on to Act 7.4.
For alliance play I’m returned to STARS, which currently runs Map 8 with Tier 4 wars. In Map 8 I run the Reverse Controls and Super Masochism paths, and I’m on Path 9 in Alliance War at the moment.
Total Account Spend: $740 USD (+$55 past 3 months) In addition to the usual Units Card, purchased the Summoner Sigil to work on acquiring the Scarlet Witch Sigil dupe. I spent $20 on Cyber Weekend.
