How The November 2021 Side Quest Works – Forever Starts Now

After a frustrating September and October Side Quest, November looks to be very straightforward. In addition to an Externals MCU tie-in, MCOC is also celebrating Movember with a special solo event and crystal!

EVENT SCHEDULE

Week 1: Wednesday, November 3 at 1pm EST (Guillotine 2099 Boss)

Week 2: Wednesday, November 10 at 1pm EST (Annihilus Boss)

Week 3: Wednesday, November 17 at 1pm EST (Apocalypse Boss)

Week 4: Wednesday, November 24 at 1pm EST (Doctor Doom Boss)

Ends: Wednesday, December 1 at 1pm EST

HOW TO PLAY

This side quest is pretty simple. Much like Love is a Battlerealm or Gwenpool Goes to the Movies, it will feature a new quest that unlocks each week. Each quest will be available in 4 difficulty levels (Legendary, Epic, Master, and Heroic) and have 3 paths. You will be able to run all 4 difficulty levels if you choose, and the quests have no energy costs. You will be allowed to bring three champions into the quest.

Of the three paths in each quest, one will be unrestricted, while the other two will require either Sersi or Ikaris to pass through a champion gate. Luckily, you will receive the 3-star versions of Sersi and Ikaris via your in-game mail on November 3. Unlike with the Summoned Symbiote and Anti-Venom in October, you do not have to do anything to receive Sersi and Ikaris.

REWARDS

Each weekly quest will have completion and exploration rewards. Please note that the rewards below are PER WEEK, so you’ll want to multiply by four to get your monthly total of possible rewards.

In addition to the quest rewards, if you fully explore a difficulty of the side-quest, you will also complete a special Solo Objective.

Finally, rank-up and win fights with your new Sersi and Ikaris to complete another set of objectives which will reward you with special crystal shards, gold, ISO, a special title, and more.

WORLD’S END CRYSTALS

November’s special hero crystal is called the World’s End Crystal. As usual these are available in Cavalier and Grandmaster variations for 4K shards, which can be earned from the Side Quest, Solo Objectives, and Solo Events. There are some pretty good champions in these crystals, including Hercules, Spider-Ham, Captain America Infinity War and Nick Fury.

MOVEMBER CELEBRATION

While that’s everything for the External’s tie-in, we’re not quite done yet as MCOC is celebrating Movember. Use #Bewhiskered (bearded champions) to win quest, arena, and incursions fights and earn points toward a solo event that rewards Bewhiskered shards, which can be redeemed for the Bewhiskered Cavalier/Grandmaster Crystals. There will also be a login calendar that rewards Bewhiskered shards.

FINAL THOUGHTS

After a two-month Side Quest experiment, simple is what the players want and simple is what we are going to get. Team construction will be interesting, and the 3-champion limitation with the requirement to bring Ikaris or Sersi into Epic and Legendary difficulty could make for some tricky trade-offs. The Bewhiskered Crystal is a fun addition, and we should be able to earn those points easily enough simply by playing the game. Even the Sersi and Ikaris Solo Objectives don’t seem too bad. Personally I am looking forward to this one! Best of luck to everyone this Movember.
