Chapter Guide – Act 2.4.5 – Nearer – Emma Frost to 4/40

Here’s my guide for Act 2.4.5 “Nearer” in Marvel Contest of Champions.

General Thoughts:

There are three paths here, and nothing much new to worry about from a difficultly standpoint.

I have my first 4-Star 4/40 on my account! Emma Frost is also now at the top of my profile.

Best Champs: Any

Restrictions: Need 1 Tech & 1 Mutant

Global Node: None

Boss: Abomination

Boss Notes: If you can, bring a Poison-Immune champion.


Lane 1 – Left

Gate: None

Defenders: Colossus, Vision Age of Ultron, Howard The Duck, Ant Man, Omega Red, Joe Fixit, Archangel

Nodes: None

Team: 5-Star Hulk, 5-Star Captain America Infinity War, 4-Star Emma Frost, 3-Star Guardian, 3-Star Elsa Bloodstone

Tips: Do not bleed Omega Red or stand near him for long periods of time because it will activate his Death Field, which, as the name implies, is not good for your champion’s health.

Lane 2 – Left Center

Gate: 1 Tech

Defenders: Colossus, Ghost, Red Hulk, Ant Man, Rhino, Green Goblin, Archangel

Nodes: None

Team: 5-Star Hulk, 5-Star Captain America Infinity War, 4-Star Emma Frost, 3-Star Guardian, 3-Star Elsa Bloodstone

Tips: Green Goblin’s specials are tricky to dodge, so you’re probably safer blocking unless you’re experienced fighting him.

Lane 3 – Right Center

Gate: Need 1 Mutant

Defenders: Colossus, Nebula, She-Hulk, Beast, Ultron, Namor, Archangel

Nodes: None

Team: 5-Star Hulk, 5-Star Captain America Infinity War, 4-Star Emma Frost, 3-Star Guardian, 3-Star Elsa Bloodstone

Tips: The biggest worry here is Ultron’s evade, which usually tends to trigger when you try to punish his SP1.

Lane 4 – Left

Gate: None

Defenders: Colossus, Nebula, Hulk, Sentry, Ultron, Namor, Archangel

Nodes: None

Team: 5-Star Hulk, 5-Star Captain America Infinity War, 4-Star Emma Frost, 3-Star Guardian, 3-Star Elsa Bloodstone

Tips: See Ultron note in Path 3.
