Summoners!
Mr. Sinister appears to following in M.O.D.O.K’s tiny, mutated footsteps and is opening his own Laboratory. Here’s a quick rundown on the format.
Time: Wednesday, August 7 to Wednesday, September 4. Resets every 24 hours (28 times).
Format: 4 difficulty tiers, each with 2 paths. 6 fights per path. Total of 8 paths per day. You have 10 entries per day, so you get two opportunities to back out if needed.
What’s New: In addition to the randomizers you can use to re-roll the buffs, you can also select Sensory Boosts which give your champions different benefits. Some of these benefits are increased for, or only apply to mutant champions.
Team Selection Advice: We don’t know what we’re dealing with in terms of new buffs, champs in the labs, or opponent PI. Best bet, especially early, is to cover as many bases as possible in terms of immunity and utility.
Mutant champions gain added bonuses from the Sensory Boosts, so champs such as Iceman, Emma Frost, and Omega Red may have increased value in this event as they are immune to multiple damaging debuffs.
When putting together a team, I recommend bringing at least one champion that can overcome the following nodes/forms of damage: Bleed, Poison, Incinerate, Power Gain, Auto-Block, Auto-Evade, Caustic Temper and Reverse Controls.
An example of such a team would be Iceman, OG Vision, Killmonger, Hyperion, & Emma Frost.
Other non-mutant champs to consider as they could be useful in multiple scenarios:
Science: Void, Quake, Gladiator Hulk, Cap IW
Skill: Blade, Korg
Tech: Darkhawk, Ghost, Sentinel, Iron Man IW, Mysterio, Sparky
Cosmic: Captain Marvel Movie, Corvus, Medusa
Mystic: Magik, Mephisto, Morningstar, Dormammu, Ghost Rider, Symbiote Supreme
